Espresso Training Session Ideas

ICTinspires have the agreement to deliver Espresso training in Essex schools. Some schools have had Espresso for a few years and feel they don't need/want a session. However, there are many ways to use the session to enhance learning and teaching. Remember - the inset session is paid for as part of the subscription and will enable maximum use of the content.

You may want to look at the wider use of Espresso:

• If you have not had Espresso training for at least a year you would not have seen these ideas
• You may want to use the session to start Podcasting in your school
• There are many resources to support pupils aged 3 - 5
• Embed Espresso in your learning platform (e-Folio) - perfect for encouraging independent learning

You may not want a staff meeting and would like selected staff to know how to integrate ICT with Espresso from the planning stage:

• Hyperlink to Espresso from text or images in your IWB pages or planning sheets
• Import Espresso images into your own content gallery area on your IWB
• Add Espresso images and video to a Word/PowerPoint document
• Create 'PhotoStories' with Espresso content
• Use Espresso news to support cross-curricular themes, for example PSHE and Literacy

Filmed at Hague Primary School in Tower Hamlets, the workshop helped Year 2 pupils make a video of 'number stories' for some of the younger year groups.
